Android Mobile UI

We offer an android mobile application that is designed for both visually impaired users and non-visually impaired users.

Separation of the UI is requested once in the application-startup, then set in our application accordingly. Our application provides Voice Interaction for the Visually Impaired UI and Visual Interaction for Non-Visually Impaired UI.

For the Visually Impaired mode, we provide our visually impaired users a simple UI to interact with the application (which is clicking anywhere on the screen to give any command) and we manage all interactions in this mode through a special 'Command-Directive' chain. For the interactions, we provide our users a list of commands, that are equivalent to the ones that is available in Non-Visually Impaired Mode, to interact with our application.

For the Non-Visually Impaired mode, we provide all the features specified in our "Features" section below in special modules named as "Navigate", "Heatmap" and "Monitor".

Huge 3D World Map

We offer an extensive digital world map in 3D that contains lots of indoor maps (including our great custom indoor map) in itself. For our demo, we've designed and developed our Department's A Block Indoor Map by using WRLD3D's Map and Indoor Map Designer tools with the collaboration of QGIS tool. Our custom 3D world map is designed according to this Indoor Mapscene that we've created from scratch.

This digital 3D map is hosted by but we provide a caching mechanism inside our application. Thanks to that, our users download the map once and then uses the cached version.

Indoor Navigation Engine

We offer a custom Indoor Navigation Engine that is powered by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and can compute locations (indoor), calculate directions, generate paths and navigate users to their destination points in real time.

Navigation Engine's realtime location calculation functionality has been implemented using Multilateration algorithm using the Bluetooth Low Energy signals gathered from multiple beacons, which are also pre-filtered using Kalman Filters in order to smooth the calculated location result, periodically.

Navigation Engine's path generation and shortest path computation functionalities across the map are developed using this fork of Open Source Routing Machine (OSRM) a high performance routing engine designed for use with OpenStreetMap data.

Server Support

We offer a dedicated server support for the users of our system due to a number of reasons:

• To be able to provide our users realtime population intensity of buildings inside our maps through great heatmaps.
• To be able to provide all the functionalities of our platform that is in the context of our Pandemic (such as current Covid-19) Management module and Social Distancing Mode.
• To be able to introduce best security measures into our system that is powered by decentralized Bluetooth Low Energy Beacon set-ups.
• To be able to provide our users a smooth VipAssistant experience with the increased availability of our platform.
• To be able to increase the exdentibility and portability features of our application as VipAssistant can be extended with many other great functionalities (such as heatmaps) using the power of our server support.
