The purpose of this project, CT Scan Viewer, is to create a software that processes medical image data, specifically the Computed Tomography (CT) scans.

The software parses the CT scan data (in DICOM format), and renders the resulting data as a 3D model and also as 2D image stacks. The data can be filtered out by the user to segment-out many organs, e.g. skull, bones, heart, kidney, as a 3D model.

The software also includes a new algorithm, the "Stitch" algorithm, of our own to "weave" the user-chosen region-of-interest areas in 2D image slices into 3D surface, semi-automatically (meaning that the user is required to point out the ROI area at each 2D image slice).

As a future work, we are concentrated on implementing a machine learning based fully-automatic segmentation procedure, which only requests the organ name to be segmented-out from the whole 3D body model of the currently loaded CT data, then automatically detects the contour of the organ and segments it out without requiring any user intervention.

About Us

Bit Please is a graduation project team of METU-CENG, located in the innovative and beautiful city: Ankara, of Turkey. As a team, we strive to continuously improve our products and provide cost-effective software solutions that are of the highest quality.

CT Scan Viewer has come a long way since it was first designed in 2016 and it aims to be a highly reputable 3D DICOM Scan Viewing solution that is used by many satisfied users throughout the world.
