Remote storage of files with a central, service-based service will only get you so far, since any minute your access can be denied by the people who own them, attacks toward these services, or even your internet provider. Cloudchain brings access to cloud from corporation servers down to the decentralized network of Cloudchain users. Plus, the files you upload are encrypted and cannot be read by the nodes that you store your file in!
Cloudchain has a blockchain embedded in its core. Each file you share has a specific entry in this blockchain. By modifying this entry, you can grant access to private groups for files that you upload, or specify how many copies should be stored in the cloud, in case a node you store your file in fails.
Each file-sharing operation has a history in the Ethereum blockchain within. Using this history, you can seperately buy/rent storage space and show this blockchain as proof. With Ethereum smart contracts, this can even be automated!
