WHAT IS CHESSMATE

We created a system that will employ a robot arm to play chess with a human.

• A RealSense camera used by the robot arm to understand the state of the chessboard. After understanding the state, it decides the best movement and play accordingly.
• The robot arm act as though it is competing with other players while playing.
• The robot arm plays chess with humans while expressively making gestures like thinking, examining, hesitating, shows of satisfaction and bewilderment, breathing, etc.

It acts in the manner of a person. Robot-to-human nonverbal emotional expression will be applied to competitive play!
